The challenge for Bishop Ranch, a historic business park housing over 30,000 employees and major corporations like GE Digital and Chevron, was to create a renewable energy ecosystem capable of powering a sprawling campus while supporting its ambitious green building goals. HOH’s expertise in high-performance energy storage was crucial in delivering a solution that would offset up to 90% of the campus's total energy usage.
The solution, engineered in collaboration with DSD (another key partner of HOH), involved installing 16.9MW of solar energy capacity combined with 14.2MWh of energy storage. This integrated renewable energy system not only meets the campus's power needs but also eliminates 577,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to planting over 577,000 new trees.
One of the key milestones was the design and installation of the City Center’s rooftop and canopy photovoltaic (PV) system, which utilized bifacial solar modules to maximize energy capture. This innovative approach helped the project achieve LEED Platinum certification, the highest green building standard in the U.S., in just its first phase. As the project expanded across the 600-acre campus, HOH’s energy storage solutions and solar technologies enabled Bishop Ranch to power office buildings, medical facilities, and service centers, creating one of the world’s largest multi-campus on-site solar installations.
The outcome has been transformative: the project generates 24,312,801 kWh of clean, renewable energy annually, reduces carbon emissions by 17,230 metric tons per year, and offsets the equivalent of 20,391 acres of forest carbon sequestration annually. These results highlight HOH Powerupemergency's capacity to deliver impactful, high-efficiency solutions that advance sustainable business practices on a global scale.
